Trover Health System has unveiled a new logo to go with its new name.

The logo, a multi-colored circle with four parts, replaces the column graphic used by Trover Foundation for the past 13 years. It was introduced to employees Monday, along with a new marketing campaign.

"This really helps us to define who we are and what we do," President and CEO Bert Whitaker said, introducing the new ads to those attending the early afternoon session. "These folks are us."

The new print and billboard ads feature Trover employees, and were designed by its marketing department rather than an outside agency.

"It's our physicians," Whitaker said. "It's our nurses. It's our dietary. These aren't people we've gone out and hired."

This week, the new print and radio ads start running, and 25 billboards will go up up in seven cities.

The organization changed its name from Trover Foundation to Trover Health System in December.

The new name and logo are rebranding strategies, according to a press release.

"If you were not familiar with Trover Foundation, you would not know it is a health care organization based on the name alone," Whitaker said in the release.

"As with the name change, the new logo is more representative of who we areas a health care organization," Whitaker said. "The circle graphic implies a continuum of care, and that's what we want the community to know. From regular health checkups to life-saving procedures, Trover Health System strives to provide compassionate, quality care in all situations."

The four parts of the logo primarily represent the organization's four core values: safety, quality, compassion and accountability.

It also represents several other "fours" at Trover.

For example, there are four centers of excellence: cardiovascular, oncology, women's and orthopedics; four human elements: patients, providers, support staff and community; four components: hospital, clinic, fitness/wellness and research/ education foundation; and four aspects of the health care cycle: wellness and prevention, diagnosis, intervention treatment, and recovery and life.

Trover officials chose a "cool, organic color scheme" of blues and greens to add a modern approach, the press release said. However, the logo also incorporates the traditional blue shade Trover has used for years.
