Mahr Cancer Center Announces Board Certification of Dr. Suresh DevineniJanuary 8, 2010MADISONVILLE, Ky. — Suresh Devineni, Hematologist Oncologist at the Trover Merle M. Mahr Cancer Center, has achieved board certification in Medical Oncology through the American Board of Internal Medicine. Board certification demonstrates a physician’s exceptional expertise in Medical Oncology. Certification involves a rigorous process of testing and peer evaluation that is designed and administered by specialists in the area of oncology.
Dr. Devineni came to the Mahr Center in July 2009, joining Dr. Muhammad Siddique and Dr. Satish Shah. The Mahr Center is one of only two comprehensive cancer centers in Trover’s six county market region, and is the oldest accredited community hospital cancer center in the state of Kentucky.
“Achieving board certification was a top priority for me,” said Dr. Devineni. “As an oncologist, I am committed to adhering to the highest standards in medical practice and this certification lets my patients know of the commitment I’ve made to them.”
Dr. Devineni finished his Hematology, Oncology training at the University of Minnesota and completed his Internal Medicine residency at the State University of New York (SUNY), Buffalo. He also is board certified in Internal Medicine.
