MADISONVILLE, Ky. - Trover Health System has received its second round of seasonal flu vaccines and will be holding a flu clinic open to the public Thursday, Dec. 3 and Friday, Dec. 4. Vaccines will be given at Trover Clinic on a first come, first served basis.

Trover received approximately half of its doses earlier this fall and held a Flu Clinic in October. Approximately 760 vaccines were given over a two day period.

“Individuals who have not already received a seasonal flu vaccine this year should strongly consider doing so,” said Dr. Dianne Goodale, chief of primary care for Trover Clinic. “Those who are at high risk of having serious seasonal flu-related complications need to take this step to protect themselves during this heightened flu season.”

While everyone is encouraged to get a seasonal flu vaccine this year, it is particularly important for:

• Children 6 months-19 years old
• Pregnant women
• People 50 years of age and older
• People of any age with certain chronic medical conditions
• People who live in nursing homes and other long-term care facilities
• People who live with or care for those at high risk for complications from flu, including:
o Healthcare workers
o Household contacts of persons at high risk for complications from the flu
o Household contacts and caregivers of children under 5 years of age with particular emphasis on vaccinating contacts of children under 6 months of age (these
children are at higher risk of flu-related complications

The cost per injection is $25 for all patients except patients with Medicare. Medicare insurance will be billed by Trover Clinic.
