RMC Home Health has received a Home Health Quality Improvement Excellence Award from Health Care Excel of Kentucky, the Medicare Quality Improvement Organization (QIO) for the Commonwealth, for demonstrating a strong commitment to quality improvement. The Home Health Quality Improvement Excellence Award recognizes those agencies that exhibit a commitment to superior care, and strive to better serve their customers, their staff, and their communities.
Emily Hamilton, Occupational Therapist; Peggy Harris, RN; Cynthia Barnes, RN; and Denise Dunn, Director of Home Health/Hospice accepted the award from Health Care Excel representatives at a small awards ceremony held in the Center for Women’s Health on June 29.
Education on quality improvement techniques and implementing successful strategies has helped Home Health to improve performance in patient care.
"Recipients of this award reflect their commitment to provide quality home health care services," said Mitzi Daffron, executive director of the Medicare QIO. "Achieving excellence in home health care is a combination of quality improvement education, planning, implementation, and the evaluation of improvement efforts."
